Vivien Johnston Glass
Founder,
Johnston Resources
Vivien specialises in responsible sourcing and route-to-market of precious metals, diamonds, and gems. Vivien has 20 years’ experience in jewellery, watch and precious minerals supply chains.
She identifies the potential for businesses to create positive impacts for mining communities and recognises opportunities for governments to consider precious natural resources as peace assets and sustainable development tools.
Vivien has first-hand experience of the ethical luxe consumer market, having founded her own brand in 2006 to pilot a sustainable business model promoting positive ethics in mining and jewellery, using materials exclusively from traceable and ethical sources.
This led to requests to consult for a range of clients including jewellery brands, junior mining companies, international brand agencies, NGO's and natural resource governance advisors. International assignments have taken her to USA, China, Thailand, Sri Lanka, Mongolia and continental Europe.
Vivien is the Sustainability Chair for the International Diamond Growers Association (the IGDA) and a contributor to the jewellery trade press, as a subject-matter expert.
