Curteis - Celebrating 50 Years!
In 1975, a chance encounter sparked Roger Curteis’s interest in chain-making machinery. He sold his cows, purchased his first chain-making machine, and soon applied his engineering skills to crafting jewellery in the attic of his family home, Plas Yolyn. Initially, the machines were acquired as a hobby, with Henry managing the business side of things. However, as demand for Roger’s jewellery grew, the venture rapidly expanded. Within a few years, more than twenty machines were operating in the house. By 1990, Curteis had achieved a turnover of 2.5 million and required larger premises. The company won the UK Jewellery Manufacturer of the Year Award in 1995 and has frequently been a finalist since, most recently winning in 2022. By 2000, Curteis had established itself as a recognised leader in British jewellery manufacturing, operating from a 40,000-square-foot factory. From its humble beginnings, the company has grown by maintaining a steadfast commitment to quality and service. Today, Curteis remains one of the UK’s leading precious metal jewellery manufacturers, supplying retailers, designers, wholesalers, and fellow manufacturers. We take pride in upholding traditional family values, with our highest priority being the delivery of top-quality products and exceptional service.
